Along with the iPad mini, Apple also introduced a fourth-generation iPad Tuesday.
This one packs the A6X processor that "doubles the performance of CPU tasks."
The battery lasts up to 10 hours, plus an updated 720p FaceTime camera and a new cellular version expands LTE coverage.
It will also feature the new Lightning connector found with the iPhone 5.
Other items
A Lightning to USB and Lightning to SD card reader are also part of the fourth-gen iPad.Sprint will carry the new iPad in the U.S. The device also comes in both black and white.
For the 16GB Wi-Fi version, pricing starts at $499. The 16GB Wi-Fi plus cellular gets going at $629.
Pre-orders begin Oct. 26 for the device. Shipping for the Wi-Fi versions gets under way Nov. 2.
